Arsinoé Sackey (Sin) is the oldest child of Adele and George Sackey. She and her two siblings - Salomé and Adonis are the first generation of her family to be born in the United States.

Straddling cultures is hard but Sin has become a master at it.

We meet Sin at a time of dramaric transition. Approaching her 39th birthday with her carefully constructed life in in tatters, she is in desperate need of a redemption arc.

Sin is an investigative journalist who reports on culture and history. Her latest story on the return on pillaged West African artifacts was supposed to be her ticket to fame. She is close on the heels of an illusive art smuggler when she's sabotaged. Desperate for a redemptive arc, Sin moves back to DC to start over.

Her fortune is turned right side up by the man who started off as a stranger she met in the bar and turned into so much more.

A powerhouse of talent and determination, it takes a lot for Sin to be impressed by a man. But Kwame Palmer is up for the challenge.

She and the young lawyer bond over their experiences as children of Ghanaian immigrants who grew up in America.

But as their love grows, so does the conflict neither of them know exists...until it's too late to do anything but surrender to the winds of fate.
